Los Golden Rooster se crearon en 1981 avalados por la China Film Association, mientras que los Hundred Flowers se crearon en 1962 de la mano del Popular Cinema Magazine. Ambas galas separadas se unificaron en el China Golden Rooster & Hundred Flowers Film Festival. Hasta hace no mucho tiempo los Golden Rooster y los Hundred Awards se iban dando de forma alternativa en años pares e impares y eso me siempre me desconcierta a la hora de saber el número de edición. Retomo hoy la numeración más actualizada y así evitamos líos, aunque las entradas antiguas las tenga con numeraciones algo confusas. Sea como fuere, este año el premio a mejor película ha sido para la bélica patriótica The Battle at Lake Changjin, que se ha llevado además el premio a sus directores: Chen Kaige, Tsui Hark y Dante Lam. El resto de galardones han estado relativamente repartidos entre películas como los dramas románticos Myth of Love y Yanagawa, la cinta de acción Sniper, los dramas Lighting Up the Stars y Song of Spring o la comedia de ciencia ficción Moon Man.
