Año extraño, en el que compitió lo improbable (el cine de autor) contra lo imposible (el cine de Bollywood) y las cosas quedaron tan justas que el resultado es una anécdota, aunque no por ello menos importante. El cine chino, el cine chino de autor, el cine chino perseguido y prohibido, encontró finalmente su sitio (tantas veces negado a Jia Zhangke) a través de una película pequeña pero inolvidable, Lost. Indulgence, que refleja además esas corrientes que atraviesan China y Hong Kong y afortunadamente no siempre como superproducciones despersonalizadas.
Mención especial, como decíamos, merece Om Shanti Om, primera película india que consigue estar nominada y que se quedó a un paso del maki de oro.
En todo caso estos premios han vuelto a demostrar la vitalidad el cine asiático más allá del estúpido boom de hace algunos años, y demuestra que tras esa mera operación comercial o folclórica, esas cinematografías siguen ofreciendo un cine emocionante, intenso e inolvidable.
