Los Starpics Film Awards nacen del conocido magazine de entretenimiento tailandés como un reconocimiento a lo mejor del año desde un punto de vista algo diferente a otros premios similares, sin grandes ceremonias y centrándose en generar contenido en su medio con entrevistas con los galardonados e información general. Este año las películas más nominadas son las comedia de terror Low Season y la comedia romántica The Con-Heartist, que curiosamente no están nominadas a mejor película.
