El Far East Film Festival de Udine es uno de los festivales más importantes y conocidos relacionados con el cine asiático fuera de Asia. Centrado tradicionalmente en un cine mucho más popular, alejado de lo que sería normal en el circuito tradicional de festivales, su programación no suele decepcionar, reuniendo buena parte de los últimos éxitos de países asiáticos y dejando un lugar para otro cine mucho más de autor o experimental. En esta ocasión la crisis sanitaria ha obligado a su reinvención -Udine está situada al norte de Italia, una de las zonas más afectadas por el coronavirus-, y el certamen se realizará de manera online a partir de este mismo viernes día 26 de junio.
El FEFF22 se inaugurará con el blockbuster coreano Ashfall, y entre su programación encontramos cintas tan interesantes como Better Days de Derek Kwok-cheung TSANG, Ip Man 4: The Finale de Wilson YIP, Suk Suk de Ray YEUNG, Gundala de Joko Anwar y un largo etcétera, además de una sección retrospectiva ne torno a la obra del japonés Hirobumi Watanabe. El pase más económico ronda los 10 euros y dará acceso a buena parte de su programación, si bien debéis estar atentos a los bloqueos regionales, ya que no todas las películas podrán verse fuera de Italia o Europa.
