Es un año bastante especial para los Daejong Film Awards, uno de los grandes premios del cine coreano auspiciados por el Ministerio de Cultura, ya que han cambiado de fecha de celebración, pasando a realizarse a finales del mes de febrero -antes eran los premios tradicionales del otoño coreano junto a los Blue Dragon-. Los Grand Bell Awards tienen una clara favorita, como todos los premios de este año en Corea del Sur, y no es otra que Parasite, que está presente en 11 categorías, entre las que destacan mejor película, director, guión e interpretaciones masculinas.
